What does a token actually buy?

Don't worry about token math. Think in tasks.

Bigger tasks use more tokens than smaller ones. And Accuracy mode — where Lucy fact-checks every document she produces — costs more than Speed mode. Here's roughly what each costs, from real usage.

Token cost per task

SpeedAccuracy
  • Ask Lucy a quick question
A point of law, a definition, a sanity check.
    ~15
  • Look up a section of an Act
Pull the section text and a plain-English read.
    ~15
  • Search case law on a point
Lucy finds the relevant judgments and summarises them.

  • Research memo with citations
Cited write-up you can drop into a brief or a note.

  • Draft a notice, contract, or bail application

Registry-ready petition — synopsis, grounds, annexures.

  • Deep research (web + scholarly)
Background search across case law, web, and scholarly databases.

Rounded from real sessions. A “—” means the task produces no document to check, so Speed and Accuracy are the same. The heaviest Accuracy-mode SLP runs land around ~550. Lucy bills only for what she actually does.

Questions

Frequently asked

What does one token actually buy?

Think in tasks, not tokens. A quick question or a statute lookup is roughly 15 tokens. A case-law search runs about 50. A research memo with citations is around 70. Drafting a notice or contract is about 90, a formal opinion around 200, a full SLP paper book about 300, and a deep-research run across web and scholarly databases about 350. Accuracy mode — where Lucy double-checks every citation — costs more than Speed mode. Bigger tasks cost more than smaller ones; Lucy bills only for what she actually does. Tokens are one rupee each, so a ₹1,000 recharge is 1,000 tokens.

Is GST included in the price?

Yes. The amount you pick is the amount you pay — a ₹1,000 recharge is ₹1,000 all-in, GST included, and gives you 1,000 tokens. You still get a proper tax invoice for every recharge.

Are students charged?

Law students use Miss Lucy free. Open the Students page, pick "Law Student", and upload your college or university ID; once it's verified, usually within a day, you're set up. Practitioners won't see the option.

How do I pay?

All major Indian payment methods — UPI, credit/debit cards, wallets, and netbanking — via Razorpay. Payment is instant and tokens go live immediately.

What happens when I run out of tokens?

Recharge any whole amount from ₹500 on the spot. Tokens are 1:1 with rupees, go live immediately, and stay valid for a year.

How does billing work?

You recharge when you want — put in any whole amount from ₹500. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal: we don't hold a mandate on your account and you're never charged automatically. Tokens are 1:1 with rupees and stay valid for a year from purchase.

Do my tokens expire?

Every token you buy is valid for a year from the day you buy it. Your balance never resets — it simply carries until you use it or it reaches its one-year expiry, whichever comes first.
